PALIN: Another Pro-Israel Neoconservative with Wacky Regious Views . . .
Sarah Palin displays an Israeli flag in her governor’s office in Juneau and attends Protestant evangelical churches that consider the preservation of the state of Israel a biblical imperative.

    Here we go again . . . .

Apparently also yet another who believes in the Rapture - that JC is on the march and will soon be making his big move, descending from a cloud with an army of pissed-off angels.

At which time the chosen, like Mrs Palin, the Rev Hagee, and other assorted fruitcakes, will ascend into Heaven with JC, while the rest of us roast chestnuts in Hell for eternity.

One would think that once the electorate knows of these views, and how they got us into one bizarre war via the screwed-up brain of a guy named George, will reject the GoP ticket with a thunderous alacrity.

But that is an assumption that goes counter to H.L. Mencken's eternal truth: NO ONE EVER LOST MONEY UNDERESTIMATING THE INTELLIGENCE OF THE AMERICAN PUBLIC

I know! Palin is another of these Religious Right Nut jobs! Keeps a flag of Israel in her office? Wants Armageddon? Believes that God wants us to start World War III in order to bring Armageddon to the world? These are sick people!

I'm wondering how hard the mass media will go after the lady on this. They pretty much gave George a free pass. Under the poor excuse that one doen not critique another person's religion. (Which one should, when it intrudes on politics.)

She also was very much in favor of the Bridge to Nowhere, before she was agaisnt it. (Shades of John Kerry!)

She got many millions of bucks of "earmarks" for her little town when mayor, by hiring a high profile Wash DC lobbying outfit. Thereby costing other towns in the US which also pay taxes - the public money that went to Mrs Palin's town because she knew how to play the dirty game was money taken without recompense from other towns the size of Wasilla.

Can she be persuded to be a poster girl here at SBR rather than a (72 year old man's) heartbeat away from the presidency?

            Deuce,

What is a Republican? Ask youself, please.
Because "Republican" does NOT = Neo-Conservative, nor does it = Armageddonite.

I recommend that you read Barry Goldwater's books. He is the father of real conservativsm. All that crap you get at Fox News is propaganda, little to do with real conservatism.

Here is a hint....think "limited government" and Less Executive Branch Power, not more.

And look at the facts during the past 8 years. Almost everything the Republicans did has betrayed all conservative principles

              Basically correct.

Most of the neocon "philosophers" began life as Trotskyites.

They realized that most of their agenda could better be realized by hitching their dying star to the rising conservative movement.

Neocons began moving into the govt during the second Reagan Admin. (For instance, Jeanne Kilpatrick, who was once an activist in a tiny New York City Marxist group.)

Reagan, howevr, was not a neocon. He once agnrily told Israeli Prime Minister Begin, "You are not, sir, my Secretary of State."

Another good book on the neocon takeover of traditional American conservatism is RECLAIMING THE AMERICAN RIGHT, by Justin Raimundo.

                Agreed.

Ronald Reagan must be rolling over in his grave to see conservatism hijacked by the Neo-Cons

Ditto Goldwater. Robert Taft Sr. Writers like G. Garrett.

Go back to a great George, named Washington. Read his Farewell Address. Or John Quincy Adams: "America does not go abroad in search of monsters to slay."

Re "free trade" which neocons like th Wall Stree Journal can't stop babbling about - the greatest "protectionist" was the GOP founder, a guy named Lincoln. He wanted BIG tariffs on imported goods, so American industry could build up and flourish.

as a non-american i have been amazed mccain choose palin as his running-mate. i mean, this seemed like the first election since bush you had two candidates who weren't total wack-jobs and actually seemed to have some reasonable things to say.
now this fundamentalist woman comes along, in my country nobody would vote for someone as crazy and potentially dangerous like that, it's amazing the republicans think (and what do i know, they might be right) this will actually win them votes.

If the Neo-Cons and the Religious Right keep power, they will destroy the United States.

Like every empire in world history, they will drown the United States in unnecessary foreign entanglements and bankrupt the nation. And they've already shown a total lack of respect for the constitution. It's so ironic that they point the finger at all Muslims for being extremists when they themselves make unnecessary wars in the name of GOD!

Palin says that invading Iraq is a "Task from God."

Oh really?? God told us to cherry pick intelligence to justify an unnecessary war. He told a certain few Republicans and businessmen to make untold millions of dollars profiting from the war and to take Iraq's oil?

Doesn't this worry people that our politicians actually justify invading any country because God told us to do it?..... Not because the country is a threat to us, no that doesn't matter....we should invade only because God told us to invade? How can people not be alarmed?

                      NOYB,

I don't know what will happen to this country. I hope that Barack Obama wins because at least, AT LEAST, he won't start more wars around the globe for the stated reason that God told him to do it. At least, he cares a little bit about the constitution.

For now, these Christian Mulahs like Palin will continue to carry out their warped religious armageddon as long as they can deceive the American public with their nationalist slogans and scare tactics

                          I agree slick,

Politics is mostly a joke consisting of lies meant to deceive the ignorant public. The Republican machine, including its with Fox News and talk radio hosts who all get paid by the machine, has perfected the art of deceiving the idiot public.

However, it's still a good idea to be informed so that you can protect yourself. For example, if McCain and the religioius right keep power then you must be aware that military draft is a real possibility. Howe else will they find enough soldiers for their religous wars? you should see this coming before the idiot public and take all necessary precautions in advance

Sarah Palin's quote from the video above:

"you're job is to be out there herding people throught alaska and we'll make sure god's will is done here."

"Our national leaders are sending them out to war on a task from god. There is a plan, it is God's plan."

Has this whack job ever heard of separation of Church and State????? Does she even know that there is a Constitution??? I'm sorry but I don't see much difference between her and the Ayatollah of Iran. They both want war in the name of GOD! The only difference is that Palin has a more lethal military to back her religious wars

By the way, this quote about sending soldiers off to war without a plan but claiming the plan is god's plan is the same mentality that George Bush displayed getting us into Iraq.
