I've always thought they should start events at what's 'normal' for the folks attending them in the stadiums. In this case, a 7:00 p.m. ET start seems appropriate for both the Giants and Redskins fans. Where the West Coaster really get screwed will be, for example, if the Angels make the World Series this year and have games in Anaheim then start at a convenient (8:00 p.m.) time for fans on the East Coast. That's a ripoff to Californians, many of whom will be negotiating traffic home from their jobs at first pitch.

Alas, television rules and what's best for their East Coast viewers is the way things will be.
