Most people seemed to be on Memphis in Portland the other night. Most ppl here were in love with Memphis just a couple days ago as they were riding a 7-game winning streak.

so what changed ?

The Rose Garden is a tougher place to play than the staples center vs a b2b clippers team (and this time memphis is rested, unlike their game in Portland the other night).

it's just funny how perceptions change so fast at the blink of an eye around here. lol

So the Clippers all of a sudden are impervious to having a 2-game losing streak ? since when ?

That game tomorrow gives me sort of the same eerie feeling I had when the Bucks played there and people thought I was nuts to lay 6u on MIL. The first time the clippers got shown this year was @ SA when they got blown out.. followed by a home loss where they didn't look sure of themselves at all in the 2nd half, second guessing themselves at every turn.

So now they lose to their Cross-Town rival for the first time after going 3-0 against them (I don't care if the first 2 were preseason games , those games had the energy and intensity of playoff games). Maybe a little self doubt creeping in again for the clips ?.. and they play against a rested confident team that's 7-1 in their last 8 and pissed off about their last loss.

Memphis threw a total stinker of a performance in LA vs the Lakers right before their winning streak. You don't think the Grizz want to right the ship to get back on the winning track again by having a much improved performance in their 2nd visit to LA ?? And in that same arena ?

Call me crazy, but something here just feels eerie.

Far crazier things have happened in the NBA than Memphis taking the Clips behind the woodshed tomorrow. Griffin with 2 early fouls could quite easily set that tone. Just throwing it out there.

ps- Grizzlies coach came out yesterday to the media and said: "Every single one of our players understands we have to play with more intensity and sense of urgency in that arena than the last time"

I will make a final decision when I bet on the game later tonight, but as of right now definitely leaning MEM

Watching the clips postgame interviews last night they look very dejected as a group. The loss to the lakers hit em hard and they look totally stripped of energy, whimpering. It isn't like some tough losses, this one really hurt them last night right deep in the gut. Mo was almost sobbing trying to make the best of it, and seemed to be overwhelmed when thinking about having to play the memphis back court tonight and needing to study some film

I look at it this way.

Dallas was -4 going into LA when the clippers were coming off a loss the night before in Utah. What's so special about dallas this year to be favored by 4 at the clippers home court?? I admit, I was a square earlier that night as most of the public was on dallas. but thankfully, BW came in and saved the night with his dallas is very square thread - so I bet 300% up from my original Dallas bet on the clippers before tipoff.

Now just a short while later, Memphis, winners of 7 of their last 8, and rested, are 4 point underdogs to this same clippers team, in the same arena. And I don't think the clippers will be as motivated for this one as they were against the defending champs

the clippers also beat miami off a loss the night before in portland. so they do have a penchant for bouncing back on their home floor on a b2b. However, will they b as motivated for MEM as they were for MIA and DAL ?? And that loss to the lakers last night hurt them a lot more than the others... to the point where it looked like they were starting to feel sorry for themselves

Just noticed that MEM will be playing their 6th game in 6 different cities in a row tonight. And 6 of their last 10 days (they flew into NO on Jan 17th before their game in NO on the 18th)

MEM leads the league in creating turnovers with their defense, and this is a big part of what they do overall as a team - they feast off of turnovers. The Clips aren't bad at keeping the ball ranked 7th in turnovers. However facing MEM's turnover machine mentality, and if they take the grizz lightly, TO's can happen. I think the turnover ratio for both sides will be a big key to this game.
