Whats the legal driving age in Australia?

Just wondering because of the Tomic story that was just on Espn.

You can start learning at 16 and hold a Provisional 1 license at 17. After one year of having a Provisional 1 license you can take a test to get your provisional 2 license. Then after two years of being on provisional 2 license you can then finally take a test to get your full license. I think Tomic was on a Provisional 1 or 2 license. You are not allowed to drive a v8 or high powered car while on provisional licenses but he got a special exception provided he just drove it to training and back.

Whole thing seems to have blown over, I don't think it is too big of a deal, was like the 9th story on the news tonight.

It used to be 15 and a half, but I think it is 16 now in Queensland to get a learners permit.

You need to be at least 20 to get a full open licence with no restrictions.

It also varies slightly state to state.
