My Female bookie ran away? Owes me 800+ I know where she works however

So long story short,

I go through a bookie who is a female. She collects on Wednesdays and pays out on Fridays. Well its been several days since Friday and she hasn't responded to my text messages. She owes me about $800 which isnt all mine but split up between co-workers and friends.

My question is, What do you guys usually do when this happens? Do you just write it off as a lost and forget about it? I understand its not a lot of money to many of you but it is to many of us as this is just recreational betting we do for football.

I know where she works and what position she plays in which is pretty high up there. Do you think I can somehow black mail her? Send letters to her company and expose her?

Agree with ericthegangster.. But the route most likely to yield a desirable outcome would be to continue attempting to communicate with her. I've don't have experience using a local, but I would think continuing to attempt her via phone works, and that nothing comes of it continue escalating it via calling/emailing/visiting her at work. That should elicit a response..

show up at her work, ask for her at the reception, she'll get the subtext when she sees you, if she doesnt, make it clear, if she doesnt pay up, you'll make sure to ask for the money from her employer/coworkers

You either have to confront her in person or let it go. From the sounds of things you aren't the confrontational type so just let it go. My first piece of advice would have been to not start a thread exposing you to be a tool. Well, that would be after I'd advise you not to use a female bookie... which would come after advising you not to use a bookie who takes two days to pay. Really you fukked up pretty much the whole way.

Are you guys all stupid? First off all, talk to your friends and co workers, if you make bets with them, take all the risk of getting caught, I hope you take some juice.

Go to her work, and do it quietly, don't make a scene. If you want your money back, be smart.

If she cannot pay out $800, i am betting she has more problems to worry about, from much scarier, threatening people. If you ever want to see your money again, give her a chance to pay out. If it's weekly payments of $100, so be it, but it's better than nothing.

Once you threaten her, and ruin her job, she will take off, and you will never get any money.

If you do get it back, obviously don't ever deal with her.

Every bookie eventually takes off, or can't pay, very few can always be reliable, but then you are dealing with real criminals 95% of the time. It's not worth the risk. Be smart and gamble in Vegas or online.
