Because the sum of the man and his contributions to Penn State is a helluva lot more than the Jerry Sandusky fiasco...

Doc , that is true in the real world but we are in a P.C. one
Media, lawsuits, liberal groups & public relations wont allow PSU to praise JoePa without reservation

Good question Sam, I would think or hope the faculty and executive staff, do the right thing here.

this is a non issue...of course they will honor him
On January 12, the board of trustees announced that Paterno would remain a tenured member of the Penn State faculty even though he was no longer a coach, and Penn State was to honor his contract as if he retired at the end of the season.

I think a moment of silence...you know, in honor of the silence of not pursuing a child rapist in your midst.

A Better Question Would Be:
If Penn State Board of Directors knew Joe Paterno was going to die four months after the scandal that broke out, would they have fired him or let him coach out the rest of the season and let him resign on his own?

If they knew that type of information, they would be in vegas or the lotto line, not sitting in a board of trustees meeting deciding JoePa's fate.

yes, playing a game is a lot more than children being sexually abused
you are the reason sandusky got away with it for so long, because people have lost sight of whats important in life and things such as child rape dont seem important enough to report to the police, paterno and all those others at penn state thought exactly like you, so they decided to protect the football program instead of innocent, defenseless children
