The Challenge: For Gamblers who are fat and want to change!
Many of you are fat because you have become hermits from gambling. Well, here's a way to get healthy without giving up your favorite vice. Earn the right to make a bet. For every hour you spend at the gym, you earn the right to wager. I guarantee that working out will sharpen your mind, make you a better capper, increase your self esteem, prevent you from chasing, and reduce the number of bogus bets you make throughout the week.

45 min. to 1 hr fast walk on treadmill = 1 unit to wager
30-45 min on stair stepper= 3 units to wager
30-45 min on elliptical= nothing...get off that estrogen machine
30-45 min on upright bike (with decent amount of resistance)= 2 units to wager

30-45 min of weightlifting (machines)= 1 unit to wager
30-45 min of free weights= 2 units to wager

supersetting with free weights (15 reps min.)= 3 units to wager
supersetting with machines (15 reps min.)= 2 units to wager

Adding squats to your routine= earn an extra .5 unit
Adding deadlift to your routine= earn an extra .5 unit
Adding clean and press to your routine= earn an extra .5 unit

I'll add some more lifts to this.

Change your life without giving up what you love. Get like me. Get like Mayan.

    Weigh yourself once a week.

If you weigh over 300 lbs., add a unit for every 5lbs you lose a week.
If you weigh 250-299lbs., add a unit for for every 4lbs you lose a week.
if you weigh 225-249 lbs., add a unit for every 3 lbs you lose a week.
if you weigh 200-224 lbs., add a unit for every 2lbs you lose a week.
if you weigh less than 200 lbs., no bonus units for weight loss...just keep working.

Research with your smart phone or ipad when your doing cardio...guys we are talking about dedicating a couple hours max. Most of you are losing anyway...reduce your losses, sharpen your mind, get healthy, and you'll thank me later.

You are earning the right to gamble your own units...it's an incentive based challenge. Give it a try!

Why is cleans and presses a necessity? No one is training for any sport, and you should only squat/deadlift once a week, no dlifts unless you have back problems

Clean and presses are a great total body workout! Great for maintaing a good HR while lifting too...you don't have to go heavy...light to medium weight will do the job. Also, if you have a bad back, or your core is not strong, you can do partial deadlifts using the squat rack and the safety bars. You're right in that this would only be done once a week.

squats, deadlifts, power cleans and bench presses are uncessary for health, weightloss or for any sport

                          TT,

I believe that getting into the gym is the most important step. I have found that once people start working out, it is much easier for them to have the motivation to eat healthier. Leave it to TT to criticize a challenge that is meant to better posters' lives.

a muscle has no idea if your using a machine or barbell or dumbell. the body only knows how hard the muscle is working.

People here already go to the gym or exercise somewhere.

but saying someone can bet 1 unit if they do this or that is something someone in the mariners management would come up with.

There is a huge difference between using machines and freeweights...i.e. balancing, controlling, etc.

This challenge is meant to promote balance in peoples' lives. They can only gamble as much as they workout. A lot of posters lift like cupcakes, or only go to the gym here and there.
