    Why are you a fan?
    * The players are only playing for your team because of the $$.

    * Fans care more about the franchise than the players.

    * Players make millions and fans spend thousands.

    * In the end, even in a championship year, what does a fan get out of it? Bragging rights...to who? Am I going to move to a city because they won? Do those fans get the best tables in restaurants all around the country because they're from Titletown? Do people whisper in admiration when you walk by in your authentic NFL, NBA, NHL or MLB jersey of the team that just won the championship because you root for them?

Guys, as Jerry Seinfeld said, you're rooting for laundry! I guess there is a part of me that casually cheers a bit for my home teams but if they lose I don't take work off the next day. To me, it's amazing how loyal fans are when the players care only about the paycheck.

I am not ashamed to admit I'm a fan. I've been a fan since my childhood days when my dad took me to see the mighty Steelers. I loved watching Terry Bradshaw take the snap from underneath Mike Webster's sweaty crotch and throw beautiful spirals to John Stallworth and Lynn Swann as they glided towards the ball in their tight pants. It's ok to be a fan! There's nothing wrong with that!
