Desktop vs laptop?

LAPTOP if you travel at all. Living abroad and always travelling, I would never both with a desktop.

But if you are an inbred Religious Right person like Pimike and Steeltown who are virgins and probably never left their small town, definitely get a Desktop

Depends on where/when im using it. For now, moving around so using my laptop, otherwise I prefer the desktop.

I only use a desktop these days. In fact I just sold my laptop earlier this week.

i use one of each, desktops with hardwiring are more reliable, the laptop is obviously much more convenient

I use a laptop. Makes it easier to sit in my easy chair, surfing the net and watching the games.

My company has just bought me a new AlienWare laptop with a docking station. Its like having a desktop when I'm in the office and with the added extra power, it is also like having a desktop when I'm on the road, only it is a laptop.

Alienware seems to have really cool designs. Do you game with it at all or not really?

Laptop

In law school so have a laptop for class. Would like to go back to a desktop after school and after I get a place that is more than 475sq. ft.

Using a laptop and thinking you need it to bet on the go is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. I would just call the bets in if I was not home.

laptops have more problems maintance wise over the long haul then a desktop will. so it really depends upon use and need.

No games, but with the software that I use: Unigraphics, Autoform, FastForm, Hypermesh, and even some AutoCad, I needed to get a super fancy video card that is in line with a gaming video card, and it has the crunching power to handle the most difficult forming simulations that I can throw at it. I talked to the guy in the IT department and he says that he wouldn't hesitate to get one for gaming if he had the cash. apparently they are costly, but they do look cool, and also have an illuminated keyboard which is a plus because I regularly live in the dark like a mushroom.

What law school do you go? I got kicked out of mine (Southwestern here in Los Angeles) due to attrition!

Use both, Crazy. Hate the little keyboard on my laptop, prefer the home and work desktops to the laptop.
