Rutger is nothing to FresnoState. This is a team that thrives on beating big schools or at least makes the game very interesting. They have beaten Wisconsin #25 at camp randall 32-20 in 2001, and #14 Kansas state 45-21 in kansas in 2004. They almost beat #1 USC 42-50 in 2005, and should of beat a #23 Texas A&M last year if weren't for a stupid fumble at the goal line in OT 45-47, both games were on the road.
The D for Fresnostate will still be the same hard hitting ferocious one that almost knock the snot out of Colt Brennan in Hawaii that left him sleeping on the floor for several minutes. Their back field is very dangerous with Lonyae Miller and Ryan Matthews, both can pound it and take it the distant at anytime. Their Senior NFL bound QB Tom Brandstater is probably their best weapon, he's very athletic and a great passer out of the pocket. The only unknown weakness might be on the receiving end due to their youthfulness but Marlin Moore is an explosive weapon and their senior NFL bound tight end Bear Pascoe is clutch.
Even if Rutger has Ray Rice this would be a tough game for them. When they played Kansas State the Fresnostate D manage to completely shut down Darren Sprioles who was a Heisman trophy candidate at the time.
I know this Fresnostate team very well since they happen to be very local to my area. This is a team that played at many big venues before, and that Rutger crowd is not going to phase them one bit or their insane head coach Pat Hill who likes to gamble on 4th downs.
Bottom Line Fresnostate +4 is the right play today
