Not true. Depends on how far the US wants to push them. They laugh at these sanctions and they are largely ineffective. If the US were to pull a stunt like putting a blockade on them. Sanctions are very effective. Look at Iraq as an example. By the time we went in there, half the country wanted Saddam gone, and their own military was so weak it barely gave a fight.

The USA left the Iraq military with nothing during the Persian Gulf war and there is nothing to blow up in Afghanistan other than some sand huts over there. Totally different type of battle the USA was fighting going after a group of people in a guerilla type warfare. Let the US fight a country like Iran that has armaments to target and blow up and you would see another Desert Storm where the US levels a military in a week. Iran has no strategy to fight a war as this was proven during the Iran Iraq war when neither side had no clue of how to use advanced weaponry to their advantage.
