I have already bet the NYG ML such that a SF loss would give me a reasonable net gain but that is all I am planning unless there is a substantial line move.Comment -

#38I'd be more worried about people sitting courtside than computers to be honest. In Auckland they 'evicted' two people who were sitting courtside betting on matches. I did it myself a little in the 'good old days' and there was easy money there -- these days it's more competitive and the broadcast gap is slightly less, but there are the same people at every tournament worldwide so they must make some money at it!Comment -

I dumped GBP 450 on the Saints ML when SF were up 17-7 on Saturday so my true 'equity' is not quite what it appears on that screen.

dont make the mistake i did getting the bears at 100-1 they drop to 15-1 and the fuker breaks his THUMB , opportunity lostComment -

Unless you initially enter the market to trade your position, I'm a firm believer in letting it ride unless the odds get stupidly short.Comment -

If I'm reading his posts correctly he's already greened up.
And whether a thousand quid is to sneeze at or not is relative. For some punters that's just a fraction of a unit. To others it's more than a year's turnover.Comment -

The broadcast delay in the UK on some events can be as much as 6 or 7 seconds (I have seen as much as 9 seconds for a Formula 1 race where the official 'live timing' can be streamed in real-time). Obviously if someone has that degree of advantage on you, you have a real problem.Comment -

#44he is still sitting on a 1000 pounds of exposure at 15-1, market at 4-1 now, he can get his 1000 pounds back and still have some exposure at 15-1 with zero riskComment -

I have a bet on the Giants ML @ +130 which will result will win more than GBP 1450. If SF beat the Giants then the worst case scenario from an equity point of view is that they will meet the Patriots in the SB for whom the fair line would be around -170 (Baltimore would be around -125). If that comes to fruition I will decide what to do on the basis of the numbers on offer. It is not a case of being greedy (or being scared), just whether the position makes sense.Comment -

#46there is also the diagonal/related markets approach, where one can lay partials on the match odds for this weekend at lesser levels as a hedge against the SB winners market ... or 'to win the tournament' versus 'stage of elimination' versus 'match odds' etc
rather than lay stake back out on winners mkt id consider laying stake for sunday's gameComment -

#59I'm a full time trader/gambler and bots on betfair are no issue at all. They are just automated tools governed by rules who are used in the main by system hunters - you can even exploit them. Courtsiders are not a big issue either as only mugs leave money in play during important points. That said you have to be good to make it day in day out as they are sharp markets, more akin to stock market trading than gambling.Comment -
