    Movie Disasters
i just caught this on Yahoo, it is some of the biggest movie busts.

Howard the Duck is on there. I actually liked HTD, but i was young also, it has kind of became a cult classic though.

i never heard of ZYZZYX Rd., but i guess that's why it had a 2 million budget and made $30 (yes, thirty bucks) at the box office.

I think its by Baker, California. Either that, or there is a similar named road outside of it.

Correct, just North of Baker I beileve, drove past it last week a couple of times, it's weird because I always stare at that sign for whatever retarded reason, you just can't help but stare at it and repeat it over and over as you're driving.

Almost broke my leg there years ago. Wind was blowing so hard it seemed like the car had a problem, so I pulled over, and when the door opened, it shut 100 times harder onto my leg. Never felt wind like that before or since.

I remember passing by it every time we went to Dumont Dunes back when I was a kid.

Why do they make movies like Meet Dave that anyone with two eyes can see is going to flop hard?

I used to get off at Zzyzx (different spelling than the movie) to relieve myself. And I'd see women go right on the pavement and I'd look right at them in my rear view mirror. It was like a peep pee show.

It's 7 miles south of Baker. You can't miss it.

To be pedantic, it actually made $20. One of the make-up artists claimed back $10 in entrance fees on expenses. But when you've spunked away $2,000,000 on a film, why worry about $10?

They rented a theatre for a week at $1000 and screened the movie once a day so they can meet a SAG requirement, that's all.

The movie did earn nearly $400k internationally.
