Mendes did better in the 1st rd than I thought he would disregarding the last 3 seconds. I needed Mendes to get to rd 3 at that point I saw it very one sided.

controling aldos body and wearing his legs out and keeping aldo from throwing his signature flurries. aldo was in defense mode a large portion of that round especially late.

theres no telling how long aldo will reign champ...nobody can compete with him...he is too well rounded and fights so much bigger than 145.

Mendes is a really, really good wrestler, obviously. But he is no match for Aldo's explosiveness. I think the longer this fight went, the more it would have favored Aldo. Mendes could control Aldo 4 rounds and inflict minimal damage, just normal wear and tear and it only takes 5 seconds for Aldo to get a nasty KO. I think Aldo wins this fight 8/10 times honestly. That's not taking anything away from Mendes, it's just how good I think Aldo is. Mendes is a solid top 3 at that weight class.

People are gonna keep betting against Aldo and keep losing.

Just wish it wasn't Bigday. Bigday pal, you're Bigtime! You'll regroup and be fine, that's for sure

He caught Mendes with that NASTY knee. And those leg kick were addin up. I capped it hoping Mendes would get to the later rounds. Aldo in his recent couple fights wasn't ending them in the dist. Aldo got back on track with ending that fight within the dist.

Well boys, 2011 was a great year for me. 2012, not so much.

Going 1-3 today. And losing $ my last two events in a row. If I go 3 events in a row losing $$$, I restructure my MMA bankroll and hope to bounce back.

Definately not the way BIGDAY wanted to start out 2012 losing $$ in its first two events.

Man, I really hate that you were loving Mendes in this fight so much. It's the only thing that kept me from going really big on Aldo.

But I thought if Aldo wins, he's not gonna let it go the distance again, so I bet on fight ending under 4.5 rounds and hit that too-- not too bad, but if you were on Aldo too, I woulda maxed it out!!!

Really think that was the best you were going to see from Mendes. As the rounds went on his shots would have got worse and he would have tired and lost anyway

no way. take away aldos speed and explosiveness as they both get more tired and then mendes makes it really technical and deliberate.

jose aldo is a beast and i might add him to my short list with jon jones, anderson silva, gsp of who to not ever bet against but mendes could've won that fight for sure.
