    Poker Financial Question?
    I was wondering if you win money from a sportsbook via poker do they eat your losses, or does the poker provided eat them? Like if you play on beted backed by carbon poker.

    I'm sure the book doesn't care if you win. If its a third party room, your book gets paid part of the rake you contribute. Your win comes directly from the players that lost. Poker is a no risk game for the casino.---Hope this is what you were asking.

      yep that is what i am asking, but say I win a tournament for $5,000 you don't think the sportsbook is paying for it?

        Rm,
        The prize pool comes from everyone who enters the tourney. Example: 10 guys buy in a $100 tourney but it's actually labeled as $100+$3. The prize pool is $1000 and the casino makes 30$ (that's the +3). It is impossible for any casino to lose a penny on poker, easiest many maker for a casino

          It is the perfect game for both player and house;

          House - Makes money on rake and tourney fees no matter what. It is absolutely impossible for them to lose a cent, as Iwin points out.

          Player - Contributes to rake/fee, yes, but is playing against other player's money, not the casino's. The casino could care less who wins or loses. Therefore there is no house edge against you; yes there is a tax, but if you are a good player, this tax is easy to overcome. This is why there is so much money to be made in poker.

            no but what i am saying is the same poker room but some guys are from bookmaker, some from 5 dimes, and some from skybook, and some from true poker, they dont have an independent room.

            So maybe bookmaker guys make 10k and 5 dimes guys lose 12k house makes 2k overall, but one book loses though

              There isn't any way any casino can lose anything...

              I don't quite understand your wording but if multiple books shared the same poker room, they would still just divy up the profits they got from rake and tourney fees... there is no way at all to lose money as a casino dealing poker.

                in your example 10k would be effectively transferred from the 5d account to bookmaker.
