Just finished watching the Stars myself, pal.

I had to ask the manager of the sportsbook to put it on for me. No one in Vegas gives a damn about hockey.

As an Underdog Player they drive me nuts - favorites seem to win the majority of the time (although the Stars were a rare exception last night).

They're very exciting to witness in person though.

I agree, a less skilled team can play their heart out all game and then lose in a shootout to a team full of overpaid stars. Garbage way to win.

Been a hockey fan for 35 years and im in the Minority and i hate the Shootout.When i watch and go to a game i never watch the shootout i would rather just have a tie.I would play 4 on 4 for 10 minutes instead of 5 then if nobody scores then it is a tie.

4 on 4 for 10 minutes and then if no goal 3 on 3 guranteed ther will be a goal then, would be fun!!

I don't watch alot of hockey, but the most exciting one I ever saw was a live minor league game. It was late in the season and the Austin Ice Bats were playing for a playoff spot and game ended in a tie. The shootout is tied up with the Ice Bats taking the last shot, the guy slaps a beauty, high and just past the goalie's shoulder, the place erupts. I'm standing in the aisle maybe 20' from where the shot was taken and noticed that when he took the shot, the follow thru swing caught the ref in the face.

The ref dropped like a sack of rocks and there was a huge pool of blood on the ice. It was a good 30-45 seconds before anyone noticed. Finally they noticed and trainers went out to him and the pool of blood was huge. They lifted the ref's head and blood was gushing from his head like a water faucet, just pouring out. They pressed a couple of towels to his head and they turned from white to bloody red immediately, blood pouring through the towels. They dragged the ref off the ice(still unconscious) leaving a huge trail of blood behind them. The ice was a bloody mess, looked like someone slaughtered a pig or a scene from a gladiator movie, it was crazy.
