Unreal. Thought my Cubs RL was dead. But it's not over yet.

What was the line? Philly is waving the white flag now, looks like they put their worst reliever in.

I don't think RL plays are such bad bets like what people make them out to be. I admit, I got extremely lucky winning mine today, but for the most part RLs are for big favs. With a little reasoning, RLs should be the only way to play large favs:
A team with heavy chalk against it is favored that much for a reason; they should beat the other team by a lot. If the capper decides for him or herself that the a large favorite is worth the chalk, I doubt he or she is predicting a one run win. A blowout should be expected. So the RL is the right play, IMO.

I'm kinda tired from working all day but if I'm reading your post right......
No, teams are favored heavily because dead money pounds the favorite therefore driving the # up.
The books want equal action. Just because a team is -220 doesn't mean they "should" beat the opposition by a lot.

My point is, if you have capped a large favorite and decide it's worth playing, I highly doubt you are expecting the large favorite to win by a single run, otherwise the chalk would not be worth laying. So if you like a team that much, one much better than the other, or with some large advantage, laying the RL is worth it. You concentrated on the least important part of my post.

BBB, with this mentality you will lose every penny in your sportsbook account.

Wonder how many games with a team favored at -250 or higher end 1 run games?
