Their pitching is not good on the road. If I remember correctly, the Twins have a 5+ bullpen ERA on the road. Their starters also struggle on the road, i.e. Blackburn, Baker, Slowey. Their offense also centers around Mauer and Morneau despite what you may think. Guys like Span, Delmon Young, and Buscher can get hits. But when those guys don't perform, everyone plays poorly. But i must say, they have made an amazing run for their payroll. Ultimately, i think it is their pitching that will cost them a trip to the ALDS.

dude, they have the same road record as the chisox, they are 3 games less on the road than the bosox, i mean, you saying they are a big fade on the road acts like they are 20 under, they are 5 under 500 on the road or something.
      thats just not logical
they are no worse on the road than any other good team, any team around 500 on the road who is 20 over 500 at home will probably make the playoffs
i watch every single twins game, the things youa re saying are based more on boxscores than on watching the games i think.
i dunno for sure, but your saying they have more road games or are bad on the road is not true
they are no diff from the chisox in that area

The Metrodome really helps the Twins pitchers.

        Home: 3.28 ERA 1.23 WHIP 2.8 K/BB .256BAA .698 OPS .286 BAbip
        Away: 5.16 ERA 1.49 WHIP 2.1 K/BB .295 BAA .800 OPS .322 BAbip

Those are staggering splits, although the BAbips suggest they're been more unlucky on the road than anything. I wish I had home/away splits for LD%, HR/F%, etc...

A-Rod can't hit when it matters, period.

Stats are much better at showing the bigger picture. I admitted the road numbers were a little inflated because of the BAbip and possibly other factors such as LD% and HR/F%, but I don't understand why you just dismiss them. It's proven the Metrodome is a pitcher's park and inflates strikeouts specifically.

Can't expect a team that loses so many players in a season to be successful. I mean they lost 3 out of 5 opening starters for more than half the year. Hughes, Kennedy, Wang were going to be a huge part of their success if they were going to do anything. It's no surprise to me that they haven't lived up to their given payroll. Hell, even Posada, Matsui, A-Rod, and Damon have been on the DL this year.

                  What did you people expect?

hughes and kennedy have never done one hting, there is and was no reason or evidence suggesting that they mattered

wang yes, but two rookies who have ZERO ml wins between them, no

the yanks dont do things the right way
