My question would not be about why a site like sbr would have a female mod BUT why would a female BE a mod at a site like this? We heard some of the disgusting harrassment she has dealt with..... I see what you're saying about the site potentially trying to use female mods in order to gain attention or interest from male posters. But why is it so hard to believe that a woman can't be on here posting or be into sports betting? I know it isn't overly traditional but not completely crazy. The few people I've noticed on here using women's names as their screen names such as Shari are called out for not showing a pic. How many of you post pics to show what you look like and who cares? Emily Haines constantly get referred to as probably a dude pretending to be a woman (though that may be for other reasons like that her posts seem to annoy a lot of people) or just repeated comments that if there is a girl here they must be a complete dog. Though I also get the impression some people create screen names with women's names to get attention. Look at poster "jenny" who signed up recently and posts a thread saying she's new here then you have a bunch of guys messaging back in no time. Seriously Pathetic.

You act like we are on here whining about our feelings or talking about our periods. Give me a break, I see more threads from guys doing that on here than I ever thought possible. "My gf dumped me, I'm so upset, guys what do I do? My moms kicking me out of the basement guys. My gf only sucks my "rooster" once a year."(ps maybe its because you use the word rooster). Overall, I don't see why you guys think its impossible for a women to bet sports.... minus the aforementioned attention whores.

What I do think is having a women moderating a gambling site is not done by the staff because of her "knowledge" Thats just my opinion. Yes I seen the "Jenny" you speak of and its obvious that is a dude. Ive seen guys pretending to be women on other forums before and its more common than one would believe. Im not saying shari is a guy. What I am saying is, some guys have went to great extent to make people believe they were female on a forum. I honestly believe a woman would get more respect if she showed her face on a video. All I see is a posting handle when it comes to a "female" on a forum. Some guys see a dream of a "e date." Wow. That is really messed up. I didn't realize this was such a common thing. I don't understand why anyone would do something like that unless they are a total creeper. I guess I probably don't want to know why. I wouldn't have any problem with showing my face or proving in some way that I'm female but at the same time I sort of went out of my way to choose something gender neutral figuring most guys would not want to talk sports with me You say that all you see is a posting handle, but isn't that kind of good thing? Then you aren't biasing any kind of response because of gender.

The funny thing is, there's no perk here to being a woman. The only difference when you become a Mod is that all of the really macho guys feel more brave bitching at a female if they get an infraction. Or they say they got banned because you're on your period... the fact they happen to be scamming, lying wankers doesn't seem to cross their mind as a reason. No posters want to f me or Blondie; no posters think they have a shot at f'ing me or Blondie; no posters treat us in that way. One of us is happily married and the other lives in Australia... not really a decent ML bet at either of us. If I stopped posting tomorrow permanently, I'd never hear a peep from Admin. In fact I was expressly told during the first phone conversation about accepting this job that employees are NOT EXPECTED TO POST. Not quite sure what valentines day has to do with betting other than its shortly after the super bowl?? Women who actually have something going on in their life besides just their boyfriends and aren't 14 aren't obsessed with it. I started betting NFL fall of 2010 and found SBR. I followed on here quite a bit to learn all the terms etc then decided to actually sign up after the season was over.
