It begins September 3rd, you should get signed up as soon as possible.

Edit- actually, you can join late, but you may not accumulate enough weeks to be eligible to win the season ending prizes. You're of course still eligible to win the weekly prizes, but someone may edge you out for the year ending ones even if you have a great record becaue of having more weeks under their belt.
