Jong Il kidnapped a prominent South Korean filmmaker to make movies for him. If the NK citizens were informed of the collaboration, they would've heard that the filmmaker graciously accepted an offer to make movies for their great leader. The government version. The only version.

You will be given a 'canned' narrative of the history of the country, of course accentuating the positive and for the most part be directed where to stay, what to do and who you can talk to. Now, if you still want to visit the country, just to experience what life here is really like, you will have to obtain governmental permission. On average, only 2,000 visitors are able to enter the country.
Getting to North Korea

Air China is the only carrier that flies into North Korea; therefore you will be making at least one connection and probably at least one change of planes. Air China has regular service from Seoul South Korea into Pyongyang

The reason they are overly displaying their mourning is because that is what is expected. All of these videos are straight from Pyongong because that's where the political heartbeat is. If you were not mourning your neighbour would tell someone with power and then you and your family would be killed. The tattler would be rewarded for passing on the info -- moved to a bigger apartment, given better food etc.

In the smaller cities/villages people are not acting or overly displaying their mourning -- if they even are mourning.
