McFadden will suck too because he has no blockers upfront. Didn't like the draft at all as Al overreacted cuz he passed on Peterson last season and took McFadden when he's nothing like him.

The defense looks bad too. At least in previous seasons their defense kept them in games but that's no longer the case.

I really hope for the best but it looks like another 3-5 win season.
This just couldn't be more off.

    - Calling Russell a bust when he has only started one game in the NFL is flat our ridiculous and stupid. Give the guy a ****ing chance.

    - You obviously don't watch much college football if you think McFadden is going to suck, or if you think he is "nothing like" Peterson

    - The defense should be the bright spot this year, is by and large young and very fast and athletic. Lots of playmakers.

The team is going in the right direction.

Actually Russell started two games. 4 INTs and 4 fumbles 55QB rating. Having sat all season and watched he still looked lost out there. And he has no accuracy whatsoever and no mobility. This guy is a BUST in the making.

Right because college success = pro success.

McFadden wasn't even good in college. Take away the game against LSU and he's a late 1st rd pick. He has no ability to make people miss like Peterson. And he's a fumble machine. He and Jamarcus will set the turnover record guaranteed.

Raiders defense gave up 24 unanswered pts to friggin AZ.

Watch and learn kid I've been following football a lot longer than u have especially the Raiders. In other words, I've forgotten more football than u will ever know.

          Wow wow wow...

So you are saying that 2 games is enough to dictate someone's success in the NFL? You really want me to pull up all the great QBs that have taken a year or two to develop? Not saying Jamarcus will be a star, I am saying I DON'T KNOW, and neither do you. This pretentious elitist bullshit of calling people busts before they even get a full season under their belt is so ridiculous. Get over yourself.

McFadden wasn't even good in college? Take away the LSU game and he's a late 1st rounder? This PROVES beyond all doubt that you do not "know more football then I've forgotten". The guy has world class skill and anyone that knows a thing about football can tell you that. 5.8 AVG yards per carry in 06 and 5.6 AVG YPC in 07 against the SEC, the best defensive conference in the nation, AND on an Arkansas team that ALWAYS ran so teams knew it was coming. He still put up remarkable numbers. But screw the numbers, just open your damn eyes.

24 unanswered points on the backups! You DO realize this is preseason right? You do realize that the guys that allowed less then 100 1st half yards and had 3 picks in the first half actually play the whole game in the real season?

I can not believe you are siting preseason happenings and telling me you know football in the same post.

Please tell me you are some kind of parody expert and I just don't get it or something because I sure as hell can't take this seriously.

I don't even need the 2 starts and the 2 other games he played in to know he'll be a bust. The guy wasn't even a great college QB. Strong arm but no accuracy and can't even hold on to the ball. He had a whole season under his belt but couldn't even lead a sustained scoring drive against AZ.

Yeah all those tough SEC schools McFadden faced like Troy, North Texas, Chattanooga, Florida International.

Take away LSU and the only great defense he faced was Auburn.... 43 yds 2.5ypc Whoopdeedoo!!!!!! 88yd 3.1ypc vs the great Miss St. 61yds 3.2ypc against FL Int. Wow future Hall of Famer in the making!

Starters played majority of the game. If not for another bust Leinart throwing balls to them it would've been a 49-0 game.

Raiders will suck this year and I don't even have to wait until after the season to know.

I *agree* that the Raiders won't be good this season... 5 or 6 win range... I just think its kind of funny that you can see so clearly what eluded all professional and college scouts and coaches in these two guys. Plus declaring that you know that a team that has sucked for the better part of a decade will once again suck isn't exactly revolutionary.

Still don't quite understand how a 2006 season 67.8% completion percentage in a non-west coast LSU offense = No accuracy

Heck even you'd complete 70% if u faced great defenses such as LA Lafayette, Tulane, Fresno St and Kentucky.

In 2006 against the two best defenses in the country he was pretty mediocre. 20-30 57.1% vs Auburn, 24-41 58.5% vs Florida. But he was hardly a gun slinger. His passing was kept to a minimum as he attempted over 40 passes only once. If u watch those games his passes were often off target meaning they rarely hit the receivers in stride or between the numbers. He had very good receivers.

If you anything about the Raiders they draft more QB busts than any other team. Starting with Marc Wilson they have not had a single franchise/HoF QB ever. Unless you think Rusty Hilger, Todd Marinovich, Steve Beurlein, etc. were any good. Honestly u couldn't do any worse.

I actually was very audible about wanting to draft Peterson with that pick... but alas, we'll see how the big man does. He deserves a chance. Scouting has come a long way since those days.
