hp touchpad is pretty good for $200 or so on ebay

you can leave the palm os on it or put android on it

touchpad is much heavier than the ipad2 but a similar, high quality device

i would suggest if you have an iphone to just tether it on the road so you don't have to pay the ipad monthly phone/data charges

Get the new Asus Transformer Prime.

Best one out there.

Ipads are cute and all, but you're paying for the name, only recommend the Ipad to those that have Iphones because we all know they are nuts and only buy apple products, so no need to fight with them.


I have the older Asus Transformer and it's everything as good as the Ipad, and I got it for quite a bit cheaper.

Transformer - Bigger screen, weighs less, Better resolution screen, Better memory, better processor, better camera, better battery life.

And Cheaper. Main things being, better resolution screen and better processor, oh and once again cheaper.

I'm just tellin ya, I've used both the Ipad2 and the older Transformer, and they are about equal.

The new prime is supposed to blow away the earlier model (the one I have) so I can only imagine that for 100 bucks or so less money, you might as buy the better tablet. But if you'd rather have one that people say "OMG that guy is so cool he's got one of them Ipad2's" then go ahead and go with that.


Sound? No problem with my older one, can't imagine that they would make the newer (better) one with bad sound. I watch plenty of movies on mine, but only use it on a plane, so always have headphones on, so I couldn't really tell ya. I'll see if the sound through the speakers are bad, but I didn't think they were the few times I've used it at home.

Ohh, I thought the fukkin thing was supposed to come out before christmas.

get the fukkin Ipad then....honestly to me the tablet was a fukking waste. Used a few times round the house while taking 3 hour shits...Only real use for the thing is when flying, much nicer than lugging around a laptop.

Tracer get the ipad. You don't want to have the inferior tablet in your household. You're letting the price of these tablets convince you the other tablets are as good. Every expert review of other tablets ends the same way..."its a good tablet, but don't expect it to be an ipad."

There's a reason the ipad is #1, and I like android based stuff.
