Nope, that would be Joe Namath, or currently Eli Manning.

Joe Namath is the most overrated QB of all time. He's totally lived off of his Broadway Joe lifestyle and guarantee win in Super Bowl III

well he guaranteed it and came thru. coming thru was something marino was never know for.
marino was 8-10 in playoff games and will always be remembered by me as the guy who was blown off the field by the jaguars in his last game 62-7

I agree that Namath is over-rated
but i'd say you could make a VERY good argument that Bradshaw was and is MORE over-rated

Physically marino is up there with the all time greats. Mentally, he is no better than jake Plummer, Neil o'donnell, and Brett farve.

what is it to you that separates the physically great but mentally weak from the physically great AND mentally great?
going beyond that...
would you rather have a Dan Marino physically great mentally weak or proverbial physically weak (as a qb) but mentally great TIM TEBOW?

Marino was one of the greatest pure passers in NFL history. How else do you hold a record like that for almost 30 years? He didn't win that much in the playoffs because he was on a $HIT TEAM? They never gave him a running game or much of a defense. In fact Mark Clayton & Duper weren't anything special either? Most of you guys are action junkies and know absolutely nothing about the NFL.

Give me the physical freak in marino anyday, over the mentally tough tebow any and every time. Tebow will win one big game marino will win 100 little ones

Again, NO WHEELS and NO LEADERSHIP................automatic out of the TOP 2O material.
Love how people want to talk about him being a great passer, YES HE WAS, ONE IF NOT THE VERY BEST................this alone does not make you a top five QB.

FISHHEAD, first you say top 20, now you say top five.
Whether he's top 5 is debatable. Whether he's top 20 is not.
You're all over the place here. Take one position and stick with it.
I bet if you polled your staff they'd agree that you've lost your marbles.

How about never having a True #1 wide receiver ?
or how about always having a middle of the pack running game?
Put Marino on the New Orleans Saints this year.. and he wins 3 super bowls..

Yeah he has no wheels.. However that was only late in his career.. after he blew out his knees playing for a team that never surrounded him with the talent he deserved...
not a leader? really? how the F would you really know that? U spend a lot of time in the locker room with him?
There is ZERO DOUBT... that MARINO is a TOP 20 QB... if you dont believe so .. that is fine... I dont believe half the shit i see on this forum anyway.. so why should i "believe" you actually "believe" this...

That alone does not make you a TOP 20 qb...................quoted TOP FIVE because many here believe that should be an absolute given.
Not top 20 in my book

Many feel that MARINO was a better QB than Brett Favre.................not me.
Think many have the same sentiments as I do.
All in all, everyone has their subjective reasonings..............no right or wrong answers.
Hundreds rate MARINO best of alltime...........hundreds more will not put him in their top 20, or even top 40 for that matter.
With his great arm, I personally would have to find a spot somewhere in the TOP 40 for him............but certainly not higher than 20.

Favre played with alot of great players over his career while Marino did not. Favre's 1st Vikings team with Peterson (great O-line) and everyone in their prime was one of the most talented teams I've seen in the last 10 years. Marino never had anything to work with remotely close to that. Warren Moon made a bunch of Pro-Bowls but racism kept him in the CFL til he was almost 30. Just way too many variables to compare QBs imo. I do know that Marino never made half the dumba$$ int's that Favre did.

How did he do with Tampa? Look it up.....he was HORRIBLE. Big shocker here....he was a stud with the 49ers. Marino was a superstar ala Peyton Manning with average talent at best.
