I will make an appearance at Vegas one day, but not one day soon. I'll need to save a truck load of money and have some sort of investment at home before I leave.

Life is looking sweet right now and the only way things can go bad is if I risk the 20K to make more, which in hindsight is pretty absurd. I'd rather waste the money on myself and friends rather than lose all of it too pinny. Gambling is a hobby I have not a habit. Differentiating between the two is very important imo.

That plan is far from being optimal, I made some modifications:

5K = Bank account (savings) -> 0K, real men don't need no savings
5k= Vacation like a boss! -> 0K, go live under a bridge, it's adventurous and free!
5k= Towards new motorbike -> 0K, go by bus and dodge the fare
2k= Living expenses for the next month until I get a job -> 0.05k, canned beans are delicious and provide your body with everyting it needs. Housing is free now since you sleep under a bridge.
0.5k = Buy laptop with wireless internet access

I am saving a portion off it. After studying for god knows how long, numerous hours of cramming for exams and late nights, I just thought I deserved this. Saving 20K is not necessary for me at this point in life, I want to enjoy myself before its too late and I get tied up with work and family etc.

Invest 15k of it, cancel the vacation and the fukking motorbike, both a waste of money and thats 50% of your windfall pissed down the toilet right off the bat. The vacation will be gone after a brief period of time and the motorbike will only depreciate in value. And put 3k towrad living expenses and 2k toward the gambling, make sure your expenses are taken care of more then your pinny account. You'll thank me in 6 months if you decide put 75% of the cash away cause if you follow your plan the 20k will begone within that time frame. And find something that pays better then a savings account.
