The New York Racing Association will lower its takeout on superexotic bets from 26 percent to 24 percent beginning on Dec. 28 to make up for an error that regulatory officials said could have cost bettors $8.6 million over the past 15 months.

that means i can get back 1% on every payout in exotic bets on NYRA horses.
OMG that is a lot of money !!

Yes, i agree, but all books should follow in the process giving back that money, the bets are registred in the account... ex: for superfectas payout of 4,000, they are returning 40.00, or trifectas with 500 payoff, theyre giving back $5.

I am reviewing all my offshore bets to request that money, i think can get more than 1,200.00.

"NYRA also has committed, as per request by the Franchise Oversight Board and the State Racing and Wagering Board, to refund money to those customers it can successfully identify as being overcharged. Hayward said that of the $7.9 million overcharged, approximately $1.1 million was to bettors ontrack. Of that total, approximately $420,000 was wagered through NYRA Rewards, making it possible for NYRA to track down those bettors."
