#11Unfortunately, this is the industry standard. When I first moved to Salt Lake, I struggled to find work and took a job working nights in UPS's warehouse. While some people tried their damnedest to handle electronics carefully, most threw them around like it was nothing. Some of it was their fault and some of it is a result of the system. Around the holidays, there's more packages coming down the chutes then a single person can handle. My older brother worked at FedEx and said it was basically the same thing. All I know, is that I will never do business with "What can Brown do for you?"Comment -

#22I worked UPS Preload, and everybody throws things. Sometimes in anger, and sometimes so they could get their trucks cleaned up in time. Most difficult job ever. Non stop motion, and variable hours. Shifts started anywhere from 12:30AM-3AM and ended at 9AM. No way to prepare the body for those hours.
Drivers made 30 dollars an hour, and got overtime after 8 hours each day. My supervisor told me they almost always work overtime hours. I know its not what people like to hear, but almost all your packages are thrown in preload.Comment -

#25haha. what a idiot. I used to work for North American van lines, In charge of the household products section of the warehouse. Although I was underpaid, I always took great care of any product I was handling(mostly flatscreens). But this reminds me of a time a driver for the warehouse forgot to close the side door on the trailor of his rig. As he entered the freeway the door opened and a very nice Ducatti Steetbike strapped to a pallet fell out of his side door, totaled in the process. Driver wasnt even fired.Comment -

#28Package being thrown around in pre-load and being launched into a yard, over a fence by the final deliverer, although the same action, happen in TOTALLY different circumstances.
I can buy the argument that pre-loaders can barely keep up with the package chutes, and that all your boxes end up getting thrown around there - no problem, ok, product of circumstance, we can buy that. However, this driver has NO REASON to do what he did, he could have set the box down, or even "dropped it" over the fence instead of "threw it", he could have rang the bell, he could have reached over and set it down even. This all comes down to personal integrity, this guy is an incompetent, lazy, worthless piece of shit. Don't excuse him for sucking balls at his job. If he did it intentionally, he deserves to have his jaw broken - might as well come in and take a few hundred out of my wallet. I doubt he was thinking "they have a return policy surely!" when he tossed the monitor over....
Your job is to deliver boxes, do it right you dumb fuuck.Comment -

#32No big deal. You can drop that sh1t from 15 feet and it still be in great working condition. We didn't even see where he threw it, for all we know there was probably a couch in the front yard.Comment -
