Nobody likes Luis except for his countrymen and Liverpool fans. The English FA does not want to have the problems that Russia, Spain and Italy have with racism. I am black and I think that the 8 games is excessive. I still think he should be suspended though. Its crazy, I have never had a man say something racist to me to my face. If you know anything about Latin America, you would know that your statement means nothing. I have friends from all over Latin America that have told me about the self hate they have for themselves and the way they treat afro-latinos and even their own darker family members. Uruguay is not the US. A lot more afro-latinos, especially those born here are beginning to embrace and identify with being black. Its a very complex issue.

Which raises an interesting point - he now has effectively the same or similar ban for supposedly using an insulting word that makes reference to Evra's race as he did for biting a player.
