no RL odds for cubs on pinnacle, but the greek has it already. didn't check cris, but the greek has consistently putting up lines earlier than pinnacle especially HT lines for NFL.

for newbies, an easy way to pick solid books is to see where the lines originate. don't put too much money in line copy books.

greek/cris originate 95% of the US sport lines (mostly cris).

pinnacle is almost never first on anything. they will follow right away, but they are rarely first. check sbrlines archive.

Pinnacle is almost never first. It's usually CRIS, TheGreek and then Pinnacle.

Update: durito beat me to it. I should read threads more.

is there advantage to have cris over the greek? both of them charge full vig, so i think one is enough. right now, i have the greek.

Eh? It makes sense to be funded at both precisely BECAUSE they both charge full vig. That way, you can take advantage of differing prices.

Example: CRIS currently has WAS/PHI at +235/-275 and Greek has +220/-260. That gives you a competitive +235/-260 spread (roughly 2% hold, which is nearly as good as Pinny) and doesn't force you to bet into a shitty price if you really like one side for whatever reason.

The more outs you have, the less juice you pay - "juice" actually becomes an abstract concept once you start playing at multiple books and exchanges.

I see you have access to Pinnacle though, which reduces your need for another full-vig account. Most of the time, Pinny (and or Matchbook) will allow you to get a better price.

I've been funded at CRIS, Pinny, Matchbook and 5dimes for over 2 years now - I rarely, if ever, get to bet on anything less than the best current market price. Pinny and Matchbook get roughly 85% of my action, 5dimes 10% and CRIS 5%.

my current set up is pinny, greek, MB, and 5dimes

i don't really want to open cris account because the chances of me using the cris is pretty slim.

You're fine then, unless you like to pound openers as soon as they come out.

Cris in reality has the earliest numbers guys can bet into especially sharps.

Greek is the only book I know of that puts out overnight run lines on Cub home games.

Pinnacle is the only book that puts out 1st 5 inning lines overnight that I know of.

When it comes to the sport I'm interested in wagering on- Boxing. The Greek and Bookmaker ( A CRIS book , right?) are big time followers and down right wimps when it comes to boxing lines. They will let the lines settle for 2 days at other books before they dip their toe into the pool.
