hippos kill more ppl than any animal per year i believe

met a guy at a convention that was wearing prosthetic leg. he was a tour guide in the amazon river back then. They stand up when they are doing tour. It was two guys.

The boat started to shake and the two men fell into the river. Seconds later, one of then was chopped in half by the jaws of a hippo. THe man I met had his leg snapped off instantly. He said he was lucky to fall closer to the edge of the boat because the people helped him out right away.

Certainly in Africa they do, yes (if you exclude mosquitoes and tse-tse flies).

They have been known to bite people in half when they get spooked. Their primary warning is actually their breath which by all accounts is thoroughly rancid.

would never want to mess with a hippo. they don't need to chew. one snap of the jaws with those tusks and your getting cut in half, literally. you have a much better chance of surviving a shark or croc attack than living to survive another day against a hippo
