Because most of the time they win if you pick em smartly.

Cloak, your making one game represent them in general. Any team can lose at any time, with any amount of chalk. We all know that.

Cubs, Twins, Mets, and probably others too that I havn't mentioned yet that are cashing as we speak. Cardinals are losing, ok.

you show me ONE sports bettor that comes out ahead betting 1/2 straight up bets in MLB and ill listen to whatever you have to say

in reality....it WILL NEVER BE PROFITABLE RISKING 2 TO WIN 1

I know professional horse race bettors with bankrolls bigger than yours by 10x that have lost tens of THOUSANDS of dollars betting 1/2

the only difference between a -200 in sports and 1/2 at the track??

at the track its a QUICK death....in sports betting its a LOOONG DRAWN OUT SLOW DEATH

Cards should have won, Snell pitched way over his head. Soprano is right, as long as you dont do stupid things like lay -220 on Atlanta the big favorites will almost always come through for you.

Please show me where I said that -200 plays is the ONLY way to bet? I did not, but there is nothing wrong with picking a couple of them daily. I've sometimes hit 10 HIGH CHALK mlb plays in a row. Risk a unit to win half a unit, risk 2 units to win 1 (you know the math), and those "small profits" add up if you pick them here and there.

But I agree, it is not the smart choice to do full time, and for the long run. But to just ban the practice of placing those bets because you see 1 of them losing tonight is ridiculous.

I am not diagreeing with you on that statement. I am disagreeing though with how you have answered my post.

I NEVER, and never WILL say that it will help in the long haul. But I am respsonding to your question as to why anyone wold EVER (even once in a while) place that type of bet.

And remember this: Anything can be profittabe if its done right, and depending on them entirely, is not the right way, so there we do agree.

I got on them when it opened last night at -192. I wouldnt count on them doing much, they left the bats in the clubhouse. Snell? Come on.

It would have been a bad beat for the Pirates if they lost. Cards were out-pitched, Snell had that slider working, he was un-hittable tonight.
