These are some of the main things that come to mind immediately. Low crime rate is also good. Not trying to waltz into a war zone. Oh ya and its gotta be relatively hassle free as far as trying to stay there for at least 6 months. Good food is always a plus too.

Im a traveller and adventurous by nature so Im seriously considering doing this. Any thoughts/ideas are welcome.

That's a sweeping statement! My wife is from Singapore and is very much high maintenance.

In general, I think it would be the case that there is a high degree of correlation with the level of development of the country. Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan at the top (in terms of Asia) will have women who are every bit as demanding as westerners.
