Who here is a fan of GREAT BBQ Ribs?
Anyway, the BEST BBQ places I know of anywhere are in Memphis, there are 2 kinds, my favorite in many trips has become the Dry Rub ribs at Rendezvous, its really good. www.hogsfly.com is their website. Don’t let Dry rub scare you off, they have delicious sauce on the table to pour on your plate to dip the ribs in.

The other place, which is almost as good is the Blues City Café on Beale st. They have the traditional Wet ribs which fall off the bone, they are famous too, Tom Cruise filmed a scene there from the movie “The Firm”. Their website is www.bluescitycafe.com/

You can’t go wrong with either of them, If I had to choose it would be Rendezvous. Its in the alley right down the way from the Peabody hotel where they have the ducks in the fountain.

Ribs are a MUST when i Memphis, Best BBQ anywhere. KC and Texas don't hold a candle to this.

Brock, my favorite thing at Rendevous is actually the shoulder. That is some gooooooood pig, brother. And Corky's out in Germantown has a good dry/wet rack of ribs as well.

Smoked honey-baked with some pepper does the trick for me. Some slaw and fresh fruit and DAMNED you got yourself one heck of a good meal.

i believe i've heard of it, but never tried it, would love to. Speaking of fried chicken, there is a chain in chicago called Harolds that opened a location here in champaign, that stuff is the best i ever had. Their mild sauce makes it so

It's amazing how the whole BBQ industry has taken off. What a great way to make a living doing something you like entering BBQ tournaments or running your own joint.Anyone watch Diners, drive inns and dives on the Food Channel? In almost every episode they show a BBQ joint and the stuff looks great. On the episode last night they did a segment on a Texas BBQ joint that had me salivating like a dog.hehe!

I live not too far away from Jack Link Beef and they are the biggest makers of jerkey in the world I think. They are getting into alot of BBQ related stuff. They just interviewed this young guy in his 20's who is the head tender of the smokehouse where he's free to sample as much merchandise as he would like.Talk about the dream job of all time!!!! Just being around the smoke and smell of meat all day is worth considering it part of the benefit package.

If anyone knows of this dollar store chain that's out of the state of Virginia, for $1 you get a full quart bottle of the thickest, semi sweet, hickory tinged, honey tinged dark red-brown BBQ sauce that puts all the most expensive brands to shame.Usually they supply the dollar stores I go to all summer but this year they ran out already.I usually buy 20 bottles at a time.

They recently opened one right outside of Memphis in Collierville. Its pretty good, but expensive for fried chicken.

Another great bbq place here is Leonards in east memphis. They have a fire buffet every weekend.

Love that show, and that's got to be a great job to have as well, going around to small, family-owned cafes and sampling the fare.
