I need advice on how to quit gambling
Once and for all. I realize that gambling f-ked up my life and my social life as well. I need to get out the game while I still can. Advice?

It is man. When I'm in debt, it feels like the only way to get out is to get back in.

        1) Give away 48 points
        2) Leave SBR forever
        3) Check in to GA
        4) Start smoking and drinking coffee incessantly
        5) Relapse

Rinse repeat until you get beaten enough to quit or die some other way.

i've had exactly the same problem for the last 10 years.

cant stop. think that the only way out of my situations is make money by gambling. sports/horses/casino doesnt matter. lost 6 year girlfriend and havnt spoken to my mother in almost 3 years because of gambling. live paycheck to paycheck, have been homeless numerous times, dont have phone/tv/etc, cant open bank account or CC...i could name 75 other things that gambling has done to me.

please do whatever it takes to stop if thats serious of a problem for you.

              1.Give me your address
              2.I'll drive over there.
3.I'll knock on the door, you will open it.
              4. Then I'll proceed to beat your ass while telling you to stop gambling.
5.You'll never make a bet again.
              6.Problem solved.

I think you should bottom out first. Get completely wasted and drugged out of your mind. When you wake up you will be naked and in the fetal position with blood coming out of your rectum. As you lift your head over the dumpster you will see two truck drivers high fiving each other and bragging how they banged crap out of some dude behind the dumpster. You will need to repeat this process a few times before bottoming out.

Always good to get that cardio up to snuff to run away from the bookies. Great advice though it should really alleviate his crippling gambling addiction.

Just find other hobbies and try to gradually get away from it...

                              What's done is done...

Not a big a deal as you think...

Life is short... Most people I know who were gamblers and tried to stop were miserable bastards and hated their lives UNTIL they started gambling again

Just the way it is 95% of the time

When I thought about committing suicide because of the debt gambling got me into that's when I knew I needed to change my lifestyle. Need more advice guys. It's so hard to quit also because I have many friends and family that bet when I watch the game with them.

get a good sports handicapper? How about if you enjoy it than dont stop just find a way to regulate it say only betting 300.00 a day or something reasonable like that Its all about discipline.

Dude , you do NOT have a gambling problem - you have a discipline problem and probably a personality defect

Take Boxing or martial arts classes this will fill up some time and hopefully teach you mental toughness! Gambling is not a physical addiction like drugs and alcohol so it really is just making your mind up to quit. Best of luck to you. The hardest part (saying you have a problem) is already out of the way.

barely. i have too mnay responsibilities tho. making rent every month is a struggle as well as all the payday/title/friend loans that have hanging over me for a long time. i recently got a 2nd full time job to try and make it.

i dont wanna be homeless again.
i was suicidal just like u. times are still tough but i just keep telling myself to try and do whatever it takes to keep making it.

if u really wanna see my story lookup "just lost my 35000 points thread" from a few months ago.
i have a 2+2 link in there and it shows how much of a trainwreck i was...

You just need to learn how to budget your gambling. There is no shame betting $1 per game if that's all your budget allows. Everyone's situation is different.

                                                          Get addicted to something else.
Take your mind off of it entirely.
Like others have said the situation is different for everyone.
If money is the problem bet somewhere like CentSports where you don't need anything. Or use SBR points.

Stopping all at once is never going to happen unless you have some sort of intervention.
So like most addictions... Ease your way out of it.

Do you gamble online or have a bookie? If it's online then send an email to all your books stating that you would like your accounts blocked and your ip address blocked as well. If it's a bookie I have no experience so hopefully someone can give you advice on how to end things cleanly with him.
