I went to my local US Post Office to mail a package. I knew they would be busy and they were, about 20 people standing in line.

While waiting the P.O. was playing elevator music through the ceiling speakers then a Christmas song came over the speakers. OMG!

This late 50s guy bald on top but with a 4" ponytail and wearing purple Birkenstock clogs said in a rather loud voice, "Excuse me, isn't this a federal government facility?" One of the P.O. clerks said, "Sort of, is there a problem?"

Birkenstock guy replies, "So why is there Christmas music playing in here?"

I swear at least 10 people said, "OH PLEASE"

Birkenstock guy says, "I'm not speaking to you people!" The clerk said, "Please, let's keep all remarks to ourselves and move on. Thanks"

Birkenstock guy gets out of line and while heading out the door said, "I'm reporting this post office to my congresswoman!"

3. Modern-day Christmas, as we know it, has absolutely nothing to do with religion (and it was originally a pagan festival in celebration of the winter solstice)

The truth is, both sides, left and right, have people that are crazy, but those crazies don't represent EVERYBODY on that particular side.

If we just took a sample size of the Republicans based on the crazy Tea Party people that ARE racist (most Tea Party people are not raciest) and used that as our barometer, then we would just think ALL Republicans are incest doing, flag shirt wearing, hilly-billy living, black hating people.

But in most situations people are smart enough not to use a single broad stroke to label others.
