    Do you know the length of the hole that the closest to the pin competion is being played on?

    looks like a par 3 about 150 yards thats all i know

      Ok, thanks. I'm going to the range tommorow, I'm reasoning that I've got no chance in the tourney itself but if I can get an accurate yardage I'm gonna make the closest to the pin my Ryder Cup!

          Funny you should say that because that's exactly what I do but the problem I find is an amateur has too many ways of swinging a club. For example, I love 80-100 yards with my pitching wedge but I catch it right about 2-5, normally I just catch it fat and end up on the fringe with either a long putt or delicate chip. I respect golfers of all levels who can hit pure shot after pure shot.

            other factors involved humidity,elevation,wind,ect,ect

            if im sea level on the east coast with 70% humidity on a 80-f day and can drive a ball 280 w/driver


            if im in higher elevation in desert low humidity,same temp, that 280 yard drive will go 300+ now
