    Teams that lose the superbowl
Generally SUCK the next year, almost hard to believe that NE could suck with virtually the same roster, but they look god awful tonight, and Tb -2 1/2 was some of the easiest money all pre season.

Also, check out the record in the last 10 years of the losing team in the superbowl...

starting in 1994 with bufallo, the loser from the previous years SB is 3-11 in week one, meaning almost invariably, they come out flat and distracted.

I doubt they will suck. But there are definite question marks on the team. And who knows how the mental thing might affect them.

i doubt they will suck either, but the biggest sucker bet of the year almost has to be NE -16 1/2, I would say no one should bet that in week 1, if you do, you have no football knowledge and are betting off of Media hype.

Didn't buffalo lose the superbowl 4 years in a row, that being said they must have been decent the next 3 years after their first loss to make it back. I consider the team the lost the superbowl stat to be dubious, as it does not reflect on the actual ability of the players on the team, however NE is working on proving me wrong tonight.

my stats start AFTER those buffalo teams who were the exception, losing the SB, and getting killed in 3 of 4 had no real impact on them, but almost everyone else was bad to mediocre the next season

I wouldn't read too much into New England's preseason play, didn't they have a losing record in last years as well? Belichick doesn't really give a hoot about winning them so much as just screwing with the assignments.

their record isn't relevant, their play is HORRIBLE, and the loss in the SB to a team that supposedly had "no chance" is sure to mess them up. A gurantee is that they will not win 16 games again, not a chance in hell

I hear what you're getting at, however it's a little softened considering they have the weakest schedule in the league this year from top to bottom, not to mention that division they play in. They play the Jets, Dolphins, and Bills twice.

They lost the SB for a few reasons but mainly because of their offensive line not doing a good enough job against an incredible pass rush, and their playcalling was mediocre at best. Brady might've been dinged up a tad as he also missed some throws he usually nails. Either way, they're going to be really good this year, but obviously they're not winning 16 regular season games. Only thing that stops them from winning 12 or 13 of them is major injuries.

Their preseason play is somewhat relevant. If they continue to play awful for the whole preseason then there is something to worry about, because you can't just switch it on. They are playing awful tonight, but if they go out the next two weeks and improve I wouldn't be worried about them at all.

I can get KC +17 -110. Should I bet it?

yep, only the squarest of squares would take NE -17 in week one. Seriously, thats the worst bet of any on the board right now.
