i got to pull for Lithuania cause i made a $10 bet for them to win gold, i know it is a long long long shot, but for shits and giggles i liked the odds.

Hi, I was wondering about this too. They really showed up (and burned me) against Russia... Is it reasonable to assume they can show up that strong again against a 4-0 team?

Just a few thoughts. Australia is the team that absolutely needs to win to advance in medals round. Lithuania is playing for pride since they clinched 1st place in group. Australia may still qualify with a loss if Argentina beats Russia tomorrow morning but I'm pretty sure they want to control their own destiny. Lithuanians hate Russians and I wouldn't be surprised if they don't bring their "A" game tonight, if you know what I mean...

Tony, where are you following that game? I only found the Olympic hoops on Yahoo Sports, and they only update it by the quarter.

By the way, Hello Everyone... Found this site by Googling yesterday, I forget what game it was but I just wanted to see if there was a chat about it somewhere, so I Googled something like 'Team X' vs. 'Team Y' handicapping chat... and I found this! Good to see!!

On that note, are there other good forums like this one... is this the creme de la creme or what?

It may seem odd if you are used to baseball lines, but favorites lose every day in basketball, and their moneylines are around that. Basketball is truly a point spread-sport. So when you side with a straight up win, they really make it rough to return a decent profit. Look how many -200 mlb favorites lose daily. Not a big surprise, and the game is stiill far from over.

I think PavyRacer nailed it up top... Aussie needed this one, and Lith just didn't have that motivation.

I just had the feeling Aussie had maybe found their game of late, having played so well as a 'dog against Russia last game and won that one.

By the way, it's not over yet, I don't want to jinx myself!

As usual, though, I wish I'd played a lot larger now. (Funny how easy it is to make that statement when a game is well underway.

This is why you will go broke betting all heavy favs like you always do. Only way you will make money that way is if upsets never occur. Tell that to the Patriots last season.
