    So, lets talk money management..
I'd like to get a somewhat serious dialogue started here. Each year football season rolls along, a couple people get overanxious and start betting and posting "LOCKS", that infectious attitude spreads, and maybe someone else bets more than they should.

So lets talk about money management. Are you setting any % of roll guidelines for how much you wager, and will those differ when betting parlays or teasers? I'm curious just how many people really plan around this, or if it's already second nature to many of you.

I think a good rule of thumb is 2% per play or less, max say 5-7% once or twice a year as the situation may call. Not like 40%

Yeah well the recreational guy isn't going to bet 2% of his roll a game, and he certainly isn't going to lay off teasers/parlays... Thats why there recreational.

The rec guy is almost better off betting 2% then going progressive until he wins.

      Crazyl,
Agree with your post pretty much 100%.

      1. Pick winners - if you can't pick winners, it doesn't matter how good your money managment is, you're destined to go broke.
      2. Money management - if you exercise poor money managment, it doesn't matter how many winners you pick, you're destined to go broke.
      3. The thing that so many people on this board seem to fail to understand is:
      It's a marathon, not a sprint.

Amatuer or pro, doesnt matter. Over 98% will go broke at some point. Just a matter of time.

Yep. Not too hard to quit. Idiots like Nicky saying its "impossible" to quit are morons. Don't bet for a few days, you won't miss the daily grind. Not worth it.

                    4. Look for value with ml underdogs
                    5. Stay away from ml favorites of more than -150

Depends on the sport. If you got the roll, do the damned thing!
