Do republicans even look like they care???
Look at the pathetic fukks they are throwing up for this election. Almost as though they couldnt be bothered searching for a viable candidate so they put up the white flag a year and several months out from the election in the hope of re-grouping for a tilt next time.

A country of over 400000000 yet this is the best you can come up with??? Im amazed a Obama victory is still on the board at this stage...

Lets ask the man on the street how he feels. Republican party supporters, how do u view the current crop of potentials for next years election? Do you feel as though they've already given up for 2012 and hence y we are seeing such a weak field of contenders?

it is intentional so people vote for ron paul instead of just a few people that waste their votes on him like in 2008.

I'm in the Romney camp at this point, no way I'll vote for Newt....I'll sit it out if it's anyone other than Romney or Paul at this point. Hoping a third party might come up but doubtful....no way in hell I would ever cast a vote for Obama.

With that said....I've posted on it before to your point of capable people on the right who could do the job but will not for one simple reason alone.....the forces and establishment in media. It's been mentioned openly in recent weeks against Cain and Perry especially - pundits say "you have to realize, it's our JOB to disect your life once you jump in the race" which is pretty sad. Instead of spending time vetting people on policy and accomplishment and planning.....instead they focus on who fukkked who....who drank a beer at a party 20 years ago...who likes to hunt with a....OMG...a GUN ...who once said they are one religion or the other....etc. I don't blame people for sitting it out for that reason.....you can cure cancer, turn every company you've ever been involved with around and make them profitable.....you can devise a solid fiscal/monetary policy and get people to work together and even save a stranded puppy from oncoming traffic on live tv....but God forbid you have an aversion to public speaking or you once got drunk and got your picture taken at a party with 2 hot girls on your lap....campaign over!

I feel the same way on this side of the pond but civil war isn't necessary.
The debt-deflation that is coming our way will have the same effect in terms of waking up the masses.

I actually thought about this today. The GOP figures in the race are pathetic and actually have no shot at taking back the White House. But yes I do agree that they are all puppets and that the president is just a political figure that speaks for the political mass itself.

And look at the math on the House and Senate.....even if Obama wins reelection odds are he's going to be working with a Republican House and Senate...so he will have no real power other than to do what he does best - read from a teleprompter about what the problems are but never offer a real solution to any of them

if romney get the nommy, it will be a dogfight trust me, in fact i would start out by making mitty a favorite, maybe 54% or so

he will get an absolute avalanche of corporate money and the repub machine will be very effective in saying the right things to the right people to put him over the top

his mormonism won't hurt him one iota in the general

if newty gets it, thats more murky, he is more unpredictable, more in the mccain vein

if newty can keep his sh*t focused, the corporate money WILL pour in, and yes he could easily win, but he could easily mess it up as he has in the past although I have a hunch he wouldn't

but trust me once the nominee is set the money will flood in, the messaging and spin will come together, and it will be a dogfight, no matter who it is

as long as they don't sh*t the bed with decisions like Palin for vp they'll be good to go, and I would put the repub as a slight fave at the outset, no matter who it is

when the repub machine is behind someone and everyone in on board, they almost always win

mccain campaign was a disaster and the machine was completely broken down, and he still came close

Newt has too many skeletons in his closet. He will be lambasted by Obama in the debates. That being said, I think there is no hope at all for the GOP.

yes the skeletons are a negative but he won't get lambasted by obama in the debates at all

and the repubs are great at dealing with skeletons, I know, I used to work for them

they will use surveys to figure out what angles and spin to use in the messaging and they will stick to that 100% and it will work, like it always does, it's not even that hard to do

His skeletons are very very manageable

still, if I were a betting man and needed a repub win, id rather have mitty

Do you herp derps seriously think it matters which puppet sits on the throne? Look at where we are now.

Pretend I traveled back in time a few years and told you the wall st cronies are richer than ever, US war machine still going strong, the cost of damn near everything still skyrocketing, bush tax cuts extended, and stock market practically owned by goldman sachs. Who would you have guessed won the election?

There's a club that exists. Its only goal is to maintain and expand the power and wealth of its members. Influential politicians from both sides are in it. Big corps are in. Trade partners (China) are in. Major media is in it. Top 1% rich guys are in it. You know who's not invited to the box social this weekend? Us.

Romney is the Republican establishment candidate (think moderate, gets along with democrats). Fukk that

I am for Gingrich or for whoever pisses off Democrats more.

Tired of the Republicans trying to pick a candidate that the media and Democrats can stomach. Did that in 2008 and look what happened.

I want a candidate that slams Obama and Democrats at every turn....not invite them to some kumbya session and try to work things out.

Dr Paul is actually well respected in the American Jewish community..not so much in Israel but the American groups (mainly Reform and Conservative) like him.

Senate Republicans have blocked a Democratic measure to extend the payroll tax cut and assess a new tax on income over $1 million to help pay for it.

Sixty votes were needed for passage. The vote was 50-48.

A separate Republican bill to extend the payroll tax cut calls for freezing federal pay as well as reducing the federal workforce by 10%, provisions rejected by Obama and Democrats.

The lower payroll tax rate is set to expire at the end of the year.
Proof positive that republicans care far more about middle class Americans than do the democrats.

Remember folks .. Repiblicans were not actually proposing to cut costs here .. they are proposing to A: cut jobs that already exist by 10% .. and replace them with a $6.6 BILLION pipeline (can anyone say Big Oil Friendly) to take shale gasoline from Canada to American processing plants (which will result in higher gasoline prices for the American public) which will then be refined .. and EXPORTED for sale in other countries .. it won't even stay here in America ...

Tired of the Republicans trying to pick a candidate that the media and Democrats can stomach. Did that in 2008 and look what happened.

usually the pickings are slim for the opposing party, in the presidents re-election bid because it is so damn hard to unseat him. and if you do become the parties nominee and lose, you won't ever get a chance again.

a lot of the big name republicans stayed out, rubio, chrisit, ryan, thune, jindel.

look at 2004, when the dems had howard dean and john kerry as their top two mofos. not really the best, of the best.

i predicted this newt surge a long while ago(have to pat myself on the back), and i think right now he is going to be the guy sadly. do i think he can beat obama, its tough to say. and the better question is do i want him too.

And if it actually raises gasoline prices because of a lack of refining capability, you don't think anyone isn't going to try to fill that void if shale gasoline has long term viability. This is in turn will create all those good middle class jobs that the democrats whine about at every opportunity. Its laughable for democrats to ever blame anyone for high gas prices, because they're the nitwits that won't allow more domestic drilling.

So they are going to spend $6.6 Billion on a pipeline on the off-chance that it might at some point in the future encourage companies to build more refineries and take on enough new workers to replace the number of Government jobs that the Republicans want to do away with in return for the Democrats agreeing to fund the pipeline ...

(stopping the tax revenue we currently get from them and giving them all unemployment benefits, and halting the growth of the economy, putting small businesses at risk, and forcing people onto government welfare) .. and hope that at some point in the future (a few years from now) some companies might take on a few more people .....? You're delusional.
If that was actually true, the government could give everyone in America a job and everything would be perfect. If you think the tax revenue part of that equation is an issue, consider a savings of 100%-20% in loss. Your still saving money. So you really think it would be a net tax loss to lay off government workers. Its ridiculous that the argument isn't even that they perform a necessary service. You should look in mirror if you think I'm delusional.
