I don't get this.
Pujols could have stayed a Cardinal for 220 million----c'mon. That isn't enough for him?
He's a knucklehead. And I don't like the Cards, but good for them for not giving in. The Angels won't win with him.

Agree this contract will look bad sooner than later
It's one thing for the Cardinals to have over paid him....look all he has done for them
But for the Angels 2 it's stupid...Guy hasen't done shit for your team YET..key word is yet.
Yes he will put up big numbers first few years but 10 years..LOL come on now

Pujols will be past his prime in a few years and this contract is going to weigh the halos down. Rangers fans should be excited about this move.

This just goes to show how little $$$ means to owners and franchises when it comes to $200 vs. $250 million. No reason to give him this kind of contract and guaranteed money for so long otherwise. We're talking about how much of a bad investment this is -- the Angels could give a shit because they know they'll generate it back in spades.

Never thought he would go to the softball league, but his wheels injury may be worse than thought. He went for the DH role down the road and that is sad. Cards were right not to try an match that sum. They can get a decent closer, a starting pitcher and a 300 hitter for that same money. Thanks for the memories Albert, I am guessing 2 rings was enough?!

Surprising to spend 1/4 BILLION, however after taking the Jays overpaid outfielder last year can't say I am surprised.

This deal will rival the Soriano deal on stupidity.

Again, that kind of money is irrelevant to some owners.
Otherwise, Jayson Werth wouldn't be making $22 million per.
It's all about the "big splash."

Not if Pujols delivers a ring in the next year or two, which is a distinct possibility now. No one will care how bad it is on the back end.
