BrentCrude for some crazy reason has created thread after thread calling out Valvano as a "cheat" or some version of college basketball's Dr. Evil.
Crude---could not be more clueless.
In fact, there are at least 24 active major college coaches right now who have violated more NCAA rules and regs than Jimmy V did.
For those of you not old enough to know Valvano in the late 1980's, he had taken NCSU to the top of the college basketball world. And he recruited one player in particular---Chris Washburn who scored a 470 on is SAT.
All of this was highlighted in a book written by Peter Golenbock titled "Personal Fouls".
The NCAA stepped in immediately and launched a 1.9 million dollar investigation of Valvano.
What was the result of that?
Valvano was cleared of any wrongdoing by the NCAA.
Further, the State of North Carolina launched its own investigation called the Poole Report. And it's 32-page findings determined that Valvano did not commit any major NCAA rules violations.
This is the best part.
