One crazy bill passed in the senate last night.

Bill Summary & Status, 112th Congress (2011 -- 2012) | S.1867 | Latest Title: National Defense Authorization Act for.

This bill, passed late last night in a 93-7 vote, declares the entire USA to be a "battleground" upon which U.S. military forces can operate with impunity, overriding Posse Comitatus and granting the military the unchecked power to arrest, detain, interrogate and even assassinate U.S. citizens with impunity.

If these two can agree things must be nuts: Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) said it “denigrates the very foundations of this country.” Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) added, “it puts every single American citizen at risk.”

"The bill must now be reconciled with a similar bill passed earlier in the House, and must then be signed by Pres. Obama before becoming the law of the land"

Met Ron Paul on Saturday, as an undecided I listened to what he said, liked it, but think his chance was in '08 in the same way that Wesley Clarke made the most sense when he ran and Gary Johnson makes the most sense now. Three guys that made so much sense during their runs that the establishment does whatever they can for people not to hear them at all.

Gary Johnson is very good but he has nowhere near the support Paul does, nor does he have the grass roots organization nor does he have the financial backing. In other words, as much as I like him, Gary Johnson has no chance. He's not even being invited to participate in the debates.

Paul certainly is a nice change from the others: the man has well thought out viewpoints and sticks to his guns. While the others dither and waffle the man says it how he sees it and doesn't back down. Whether I agree or not, I certainly respect that.
