Makes sense. I know the XBOX/PS3 have different mods you can download for games as well, I was surprised to see though that this is the first year in Madden history it's no longer offered for PC users.

Not too long ago EA Sports President Peter Moore said that Madden 09 will not appear on the PC, making it the first Madden game to not appear on the platform. Many PC football fans felt they were getting the shaft, especially since the Madden franchise was born on the PC. In a recent interview with Game Daily, Moore reiterated his stance and admits he didn't exactly make friends.

"Piracy's a big issue on the PC. I can't turn a blind eye to the fact that it's very difficult for us... and we lose money making a game. At some point, I have an obligation not to bring out products that lose money," said Moore.

Piracy seems to be making headlines recently as Cevat Yerli, president of Crytek Studios, said his company would no longer make PC-exclusive games.

Moore knows he "pissed off a lot of people," but said the sports genre is still a challenging genre on the PC. EA designs sport games to take advantage of plasma screens and real life social interactions. These are fields that the PC business has just "waned."

The former vice president of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business division continues to believe in a "PC gaming renaissance," but stated that sports may not be a part of that movement. He asserts that the PC is good at the "two-foot, lean-in experience" but sport games are best enjoyed with a "ten-foot, lean-back" approach.

They should rename it Jones-Drew 09.
