#17I've got a bet on this thread with a buddy. We ruled Lance Armstrong out, because we felt his support was built up that he is a cancer survivor and then won all the tours...we both agree had he not had cancer he would not be as popular today.
This isn't a popularity contest its around dominating. 6 world champions for Jordan, the last major won by woods.
Federer dominated for so long... it was insane. Phelps has dominated for 2 straight Olympics and every event inbetween.
back to Armstrong, his accomplishments are insane, if you factor in the community hated him for being a US athlete and was out to get him. We felt going with the 4 was better. But we also talked about Wilt, but considered that he wasn't playing against as good of competition as there has been the past 20-30 years. We also talked about many others over beers and came up with these 4.Comment -

#24Originally posted by rm18Playing against bad competiton is what dominant means. I don't consider Jordan the best player from his era.
Whose the best player from Jordan's era? Nobody played defense like Jordan did and offense. He played both ends of the floor.
Btw my budy already conceded defeat. He went with Phelps and Federer.Comment -

#27Well, Michael Jordan is a friggin f-g-ot. Phelps is too young. Federer has had a great run but, not the most dominant in his sport (look up Pete Sampras, and others). Tiger Woods plays a great game, "GAME", not sport. Put Tiger in with Bobby Fischer(Chess Player dominant), and Chris "Moneymaker", from World Series of Poker, and Tiger gets into that class. Remember, golf is not a sport, its a game, just like: pooltable, cribbabe, poker, Monopoly, darts, and anything where you peak at in you're mid 50's to late 60's because it takes, ABSOLUTELY NO ATHLETICSM. So all you Tiger Woods backers on being a great athelete can go f yourselves, because puhhleeeeeeeeezzzzzzz, golf is not a sport, just a game like Dungeons and Dragons, Super Mario, horseshoes, or tin quarter bounce.
Good topic, but bad guys. Left out Wayne, Armstrong, Wilt, the guy Data said {Sergei Bubkov}, Ty Cobb, Kobayashi for food eating, Dorian Yates in bodybuilding, Sampras, Kareem, Dimaggio, Gordie Howe, Jim Brown(had a professional team named after him), Jim thorpe from the early 1900's. These are people that dominated a sport, not some faggot old-man's game like golf.
Phelps is young, give him a chance, time may tell. Jordan got calls, and is half a faggot(played in Chicago, the mid-west version of San Francisco), Federer is good, but too many statistics to go against him. Woods, its friggin golf, for crying out loud. Give me a club that hits for 500+yards, and I, myself am in this discussion.
The point, all you golf backers, take it in the you know what from you're gay lover, and the rest, their is better.Comment -

#29Originally posted by purecarnaggeWe already established that for Wilt...we already agreed Wilt was the most "dominant" in his era. Putting Wilt vs a bunch of un-athletic people by today's standards would just be a landslide.
