    Chargers +3 @ Rams
The chargers have a good amount of high quality players fighting for the last 2-3 roster spots in question. These are the guys who will still be playing hard in the 3rd/4th quarter against the Rams scrubs who are fighting for spots on a poor team.

Most important, the Chargers LB core is stacked with guys who could start for a lot of teams but may get cut due to the depth at the position. These are the guys who will be showcasing their talent in the hopes to catch the eye of other teams.

Chargers will crush the Rams, of course no LT or Gates but the Chargers backups are solid all around.

The RAMS are one of my better plays this week. You alluded to how short-handed the Chargers are and the Rams actually WANT to win this game after looking so bad in their opener, which is actually all that matters in the preseason.

Not sure how they are short-handed...if it was regular season sure. Do explain.

No LT, Gates, Merriman, Vincent Jackson.

Meanwhile, the Rams are giving Bulger extended time, meaning he'll be passing against reserves in the second quarter.

Granted, no Steven Jackson yet, but the Rams are pretty deep at running back (Pittman, Minor, Leonard), so they will have an true NFL caliber running back in most of the game. The Chargers have a bunch of rooks at that position, although I do love Jacob Hester.

But the most important thing about any preseason game is finding teams that want to win the game, as those clubs usually do vs. indifferent opponents. Turner and the Chargers have never taken these games seriously, and they may be content with the fact that they won last week.

They went 3-1 last preseason, 2 of those being games within 3 points..the fans had a bounty on norv's head after the loss to KC at home last year and the recent success has brought back the bandwagon circa 1995 who will complain over a preseason loss...I think norv will in fact "care" if he wins or loses to keep everyone pleased.

I see your point about the Rams maybe feeling they NEED to win this game more...however the Bolts arent going to just give it to them.

P.S. Bulger sucks, 2 picks for Cason today.

If the Rams cover I will eat crow and say nice play, I just dont see it.

MOST coaches do NOT take these games seriously. Isolating teams that want to win is the main reason I am 62% in preseason the last six years.

This is definately a play the Rams or dont bet game. All these Chargers are out for tonight:
                          LT
                          Rivers
                          Gates
                          Cromartie
                          Merriman
                          Jamaal Williams
                          Marcus Mcneil
                          Luis Castillo
                          Vincent Jackson (game time decision)
Pre season games are usually tricky to bet, but all the signs point to the Chargers not showing up at all for this game. Tread lightly!!!!

Always take the deeper team that is used to winning. And getting 3 to 4 points. Rule of thumb: Never bet on terrible teams in any sport.

This does not apply to preseason.

Never say never, or else you would never bet any underdogs.
