So wait, you brought the car in for a tune up and ended up having to pay an $800 bill?

That's rough, I don't really trust mechanics in general but man stick to Japanese cars in the future.

I just spent 600 on my 40k service, and another 250 on 2 "glow plugs" that had "too much resistance.

Still, my 2002 Jetta gets 50 mpg.

I thought GMs were suppose to go 100k miles between tuneups.

                    How many miles?

Oxy sensor is 30, plugs are 3 a piece, air filter is 15, ign coil is 50 at most.

I could have done it for under 100 ace.

Oxy sensors and ign sensors usually don't go bad for some time. I change spark plugs from a 99 explorer last year with 130k on them from factory. Maybe you got milked. I would have asked for old parts or taken to someone else to have it looked over. Might have had a fast one pulled on you ace.

I drive real old cars because they run better and just have to put radio on if you hear a noise and tune it out, most things on a car do not have to be fixed. It is a scam, cars RUN period.
