Tal Smith, who was a top baseball executive with the Astros for 35 years. He has been with the organization for most of the franchise's history since they began as the Colt 45's in 1960. He is 78, and I can understand wanting to go in a new direction. The thing that gets me is after all of that tenured time, he got only 2 weeks severance pay. He was an "at will" employee at the end, but I would think that Crane could be a little more classier than that.
