If you are posting from an android just "refresh the screen" or duoble tap the quick reply link B4 the next screen shows.

Yes that is an issue with mobile browsers, the tips above do seem to help, just keep in mind that next forum skin will be a lot more mobile friendly, so just hang in there for a while.

I'm not posting from my phone. I'm on my work desktop.

The only thing I can think of is that I leave certain thread open to check back frequently, can that be causing the issue? But I always refresh to stay current before posting.

It happens to me if I leave a tab open for quite a long time but haven't gone in there for awhile. Actually happened to me when I came back on the forum a few minutes ago.
