I'm New Here, Bank Wire Question.
Hey everyone, my first post. Looking forward to integrating with the community.

First off, I have a question about bank wires. I've read about some people having trouble with bank wires in US$ even if they don't live in the US, because the money gets passed through there anyway and may get confiscated because it's from a sports book.

I deal with CAD$, and am using Instadebit now, but the limits are so... limiting. I would like to withdraw using bank wires now, but I just wanted to know if the Bank (Royal Bank of Canada or RBC in this case), would have any problems with it coming from a sportsbook. Even if it isn't a problem, would they start asking questions if they saw large sums of money being deposited into my account on a regular basis? I know it's still legal here to bet online, but I don't know if it's totally acceptable by the banks.

Thank you in advance for your help.

First off, Welcome to the SBR forum sir

Banks shouldn't have a problem with incoming funds, however it's the outgoing funds that could pose a problem at times. I noticed you mentioned Canadian banks, so Why not use MoneyBookers?

You'll not have a problem with wire transfers to a Canadian bank. those that are having problems are in the uS.

I'd sign up with moneybookers if I were you, they can wire funds to your bank account at a small cost.

RBC charges $15 for incoming wires, every other Canadian bank charges $10.

I've had zero problems receiving wire transfers from moneybookers to my TDCanadaTrust account or my CIBC account.

Well that would be a good idea. But I recall Moneybookers being totally against Sportsbooks, and I couldn't deposit money into a sportsbook using them. I assumed it would be the same for withdrawing funds to them. Also, since I couldn't deposit using them, I had to withdraw my funds (via cheque) and it came in US dollars and I can't cash that in. It's been a year now.

The limits for Moneybookers are way better then Instadebit, but still only 18000$/90 days (3months!) after I verify my bank account and address.

I'd use Moneybookers, but only if I know RBC would cause me problems for bank wiring from a sportsbook. Otherwise, my first option would be Bank Wire. Does anyone else withdraw somewhat large, somewhat frequent bank wires from a sportsbook to RBC? And have there been any problems?
